I understand that there could always be a caveat; however, it does not mean someone could shirk their responsibility. If someone runs into high medical bills due to health issues, than they should contact the creditors and create a solution for payment, even if it is delayed. How is it ethical for someone to completely walk away from their responsibility that they agreed to.

Also, the main thing I am referencing is a business declaring bankruptcy but still able to do business. Where is the responsibility? This mentality is the same mentality are government is using and hence we are setting ourselves up for financial war fare, like the U.S. did to the French. If we don't take responsibility, the burden increases for everyone.

I don't agree that one can never walk away from debt and it is always a sign of lack of integrity to do so. A lot of people file bankruptcy due to high medical bills. With the huge cost of health care in this country--even in comparison to other countries--someone getting sick and having to pay huge bills for maybe the next 30 years (think of ICU bills and cancer drugs), I do not think is fair. I do agree integrity cannot be turned on and off like a faucet.
